Additional awards are usually given to the best-conditioned horses who finish in the top 10 for distances of 50 miles (80 km) or more. All miniature pony breeds can be traced back to Shetland pony origins, crossed with a variety of other pony breeds. The Australian Miniature Pony was established as a result of crosses with small Shetland ponies and an Argentinean miniature pony, the Fallabella. The Fallabella is more fine-boned and leggy than other miniature pony breeds, giving it a slimmer, more horse-like appearance.
